Mr. Damian Gutierrez is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Florida International University in 2003 and went on to earn his Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Carlos Albizu University in Miami, Florida. He completed his internship at Catholic Charities, working with children, adolescents and adults in crisis. Mr. Gutierrez provided individual, group, marriage and family therapy to individuals suffering from mood disorders, psychosis, and chemical dependency. Following his internship, Mr. Gutierrez worked four years at the Lighthouse providing therapeutic services to individuals struggling with addiction and to their families. He is well versed in various assessments instruments, including but not limited to, the MAYSI and SASSI. His expertise in assessment measures enables him to identify critical factors in treatment intervention, which is essential to treatment success. In 2007, Mr. Gutierrez accepted the position as Clinical Coordinator at the agency “Our Kids of Miami and Monroe County” and was recently promoted to Behavioral Service Health Manager an supervises a team of clinicians. As a clinician, his primary responsibilities include overseeing the placement and treatment recommendation of children currently participating in Specialized Therapeutic Foster Care. Moreover, he has specialized training in the treatment and wellbeing of adolescent girls that warrant strict behavioral management. Personally, he is a father of two beautiful girls and prides himself in being an exemplary father. He has been an active team member 2010.
